C F Him colour blocking in Barcelona

It’s the weekend again and I am sitting here wondering where did the week go. In fact, the apt question would be where did the month go seeing that it’s the last weekend of January already.

This time last weekend, I was in Barcelona exploring another passion of mine, photography. I will be sharing with you some of the work I did in Barcelona and of course do an article to review the city itself based on my experiences very soon. However, i thought i should share with you all this look which is a good example of colour blocking. As someone who express himself visually, I truly enjoy being behind the camera as it grants me the freedom (amongst other things) to work with an idea from it conceptual stages to the end when I deliver it as a finished product. So when the opportunity came along to do some work from behind the camera combined with travelling (which I also love), I was in my element. Anyway it seems like i am rambling on a bit here so back to the point.

So there I was walking the streets of Barcelona shooting when the camera was turned on me. At first i was a bit reluctant to be the subject the shoot but warmed up to the idea very quickly. I really enjoy doing spontaneous shoots like this. It was only while reviewing the photos after the shoot that I realised that I was colour blocking. My grey blazer, navy turtleneck jumper, burgundy trouser and burgundy pocket square nicely complements each other to form a coherent whole. The peach coloured wall serving as a perfect backdrop to the entire look holds it all together.

I like the fact that the look is simple but effective with a dash of sophistication but most importantly, I like how the colours work so well together. As you may know, I am a huge fan of colour. Barcelona was 19 degrees celsius which makes it feels like it already spring justifying me showing some ankle. “side eye”. Anyway you have had your fair dose of colour blocking for the month of January from yours truly. A quick word of advice to all the guys out there before I sign off. E M B R A C E colours and do not be afraid to experiment with them. Colour blocking shouldn’t just be for the ladies guys.
