My coverage of London Fashion Weekend is never complete without some shots of at least one catwalk. I always try to get in on the catwalk action to share with you all, what to expected the coming season. My efforts to keep up with this TRADITION seemed to be futile this time round as I was denied a press pass. I simply couldn’t believe it as (as far as i was concerned) my blog meets all the requirements the British Fashion Council asked for. Also, i wasn’t ready to part with huge sums of money to get front row seats which would have been useful for some good shots.
As a result, my mind was set on street style shots when I got an email from Canon UK inviting me to their Canon Fashion Meet event. As you can imagine, I was over the moon and quickly confirmed my place. As a canon user, I felt honoured to be handpick out of thousands of potential bloggers and photographers to take part in this event. I knew there was a reason why I liked Canon cameras so much.
On the day of the event, myself and a few others were welcomed by the very friendly Canon and Mediabrands staff at the Sloane Club where we where give tips on how to shoot a catwalk. Even thought I have done catwalk shoot before, I learnt a lot from the presentation by John Philips. The presentation was then followed by a trend catwalk show which was an absolutely joy to shoot.
I also had the opportunity to meet and network with other photographers, bloggers and instagrammers some of whom I will be working with in the near future! The entire event was a massive success even though I am not completely happy with my images.
Anyway here are a few of the photos I took for you all. Let me know what you think in the comment section below. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram as i update my account regularly.
Big thanks to the people at Canon UK and Mediabrands for the invite. I would definitely love to be at your next event.
