For those in England, the weather has been kind to us in the past few days. Some might even add that it has been too kind as garments and layers are falling off due to the “excessive” heat. I try not to complain as I know I’d rather this hot weather any day to a rainy or snowy one. Truth be told, its easier to keep warm than to cool down but like I said, give me a hot day over a cold one any time. As Brits, our conversations are never a few sentences away from talking about the weather. Its like we just love to talk about the weather. It is a conversation starter and I can see why most people would use it as an ice breaker. Everyone can relate to the conditions of the weather. Anyway enough about the weather already.
The reason for this post is to show you my ultimate summer, or should I say hot weather suit. Summers in England are no guarantee for hot weather as you may know. If there is one summer social event most bloggers want to be at then it is the Mr Porter Summer Social. I have heard of similar Mr Porter events before but never had the opportunity to at one until the very last day of London Collections: Men.
The Mr Porter social was just what the Dr prescribed after four days of running to shows and navigating photographers keen to snap away at anyone who looks wired enough. Seems like the more wired one look these days the more attention you command. Nothing to do with practicality and sensible clothing anymore but hey that is a topic for another day.
Upon arrival at the Mr Porter social which was held at the rooftop Ham Yard Hotel, we were served cold Sipsmith Gin cocktails which I must admit hit the spot bang on. Continue reading Mr Porter Summer Social 2016 – Cuts For Him
When i place my name on the waiting list for a chance to get a ticket for Canon’s InstaMeet I honestly did not think I was going to get one. Canon InstaMeet events are highly sought as they are as exclusive as they come.
When I got an email a few days later confirming my place at their latest gig, i was over the moon. I literally had to cancel plans I had that evening to make sure I was there.
As expected, the event was a massive success. We were first of all treated to some drinks and snacks which i must say I was not able to take full advantage of as I had just had a heavy late lunch before I got to Somerset house where the event was held.
For the secret gig, three bands were lined up with the first to perform being Liskka, the second The Bloom, and lastly Bent Ref.
At the end of concert we were ushered in to view the amazing exhibition celebrating the life of Stanley Kubrick.
