Ice Cream for BoohooMAN | Cuts for Him

I am super excited to be working with BoohooMAN. You must be thinking why would Cuts for Him be excited about a company that makes casual wear. Ha, well that’s where the story gets interesting.

BoohooMan has launched their first full tailoring range and I had the pleasure of working with them to showcase just how versatile their current collection is. I was literally spoilt for choice choosing a suit to style from their tailoring range.

In the end, I went for a slim-fit double-breasted suit which really stood out to me. Of course, I was looking forward to my new suit but then discovered upon delivery that the warehouse sent me a mismatching trouser with the jacket. Was the mistake done by the warehouse or did I make it?

Instinctively, I placed the jacket and trouser into the return parcel to send it back. But then I thought, what good am I as a stylist if I can’t think on my feet and style a look I have not planned for. For every challenge, there is an opportunity I said to myself.

So instead of sending them back, I styled both separately. The fact that I was able to style them separately shows just how versatile BoohooMan’s tailoring range is.

I will show you how I styled the trouser in another blog post.

I paired the jacket with a plain navy dress trouser. Matching my favorite white sneakers was a white crew neck t-shirt.

My pocket square of choice for the day was a tasty cone ice cream with toppings.

The inspiration behind this look was the sunny weather in London.

Let me know your thoughts on this look.

The Wigmore | The bar with a Michel Roux Jr menu | Cuts for him

At around 5:45pm yesterday, I shut my bedroom door behind me and rushed to the front door of my flat with my sneakers in one hand and my phone in the other. I was speaking to my sister who was already waiting for me at Oxford circus. We were heading to the preview for the latest and swankiest bar in central London called The Wigmore.

Judging from the tone in my sister’s voice, she was getting slightly impatient waiting for me. She was my plus one for the event and has been looking forward to it ever since I told her about it.

Long story short, we eventually got to The Wigmore and immediately thought to myself this could possibly be my new handout spot. The atmosphere was electric Continue reading The Wigmore | The bar with a Michel Roux Jr menu | Cuts for him

Moët & Chandon July Festival | Gents day | Cuts for Him

Wow! Yeah thats right I said wow. I have never started an article on Cuts of Him with a wow. That’s exactly how I feel about the Moet & Chandon July Festival at the Adnams racecourse.

I received an invite from The Jockey Club a few weeks ago to the Newmarket racecourse and I have been looking forward to it ever since. However, I have to say that nothing could have prepared me for such an adrenaline filled day.

My journey to Newmarket for the races was a bit dramatic due to miscommunication at Kings Cross station between myself and a station staff. The train journey itself went Continue reading Moët & Chandon July Festival | Gents day | Cuts for Him

Hotel Barmoi | Sun, sea and a slice of paradise in Freetown

It was about 35 degrees Celsius on a Thursday afternoon when the vehicle I was travelling in pulled up to a gate in Aberdeen, West of Freetown. I chuckled and said to my drive “we don reach sef?”, which translates as “are we here already”. Either I was too busy on my laptop to notice the drove from IMAT (where I was stayed for my holiday), or the journey was much shorter than I anticipated.

My morning coffee fix

By the time the gatekeeper opened the gate to let us in, I was already out of the vehicle and trying to figure out where the reception area was. I absolutely dislike sitting in a vehicle waiting for gates to be opened, drivers to park properly or even being held up in the Freetown traffic. In fact I do not like to be chauffeured around but as someone who cannot drive, I have very little choice in the matter. As a result, I try to spend as little time as possible in any vehicle.  The minute I sense there could be a slight hold up, I am out of the vehicle walking towards my destination.

Cereal for breakfast

I was greeted with a big smile by one of the receptionists as I walked into the air-conditioned waiting area. Good afternoon sir, greeted the polite young lady behind the Continue reading Hotel Barmoi | Sun, sea and a slice of paradise in Freetown
