St Jame’s Market official opening | Cuts for Him

London turned out to be great last week with the beautiful summer weather and great vibe that came with it. As you can imagine, I spent most of my time outdoors catching up with friends over a drink or two. However, the absolute highlight of the week was the grand opening of St Jame’s Market in central London.

I was chuffed to bits when I received an invite to the grand opening but was a bit taken aback when I looked up the location. The area which is now the market used to be heavily boarded up the last few times I was in that vicinity.

Upon reading the invite, I saw words and phrases such as performances from classical musicians, lifestyle and fashion, and unwind after work. I was like what do they mean “unwind”? Do they not know that central London is as hectic as it comes? Nonetheless, I was pleased to be invited and as such went to check it out.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover how mellow the market area is. Getting off Piccadilly circus station, I made my way down the ever busy regent street and took a left turn towards St Jame’s market. I can honestly say that the first word that came to mind was oasis. St James market is indeed an oasis from the busy and bustling of the city around it. For food lovers, the market has many top restaurants from formal dining restaurants such as Aquavit to more relaxed ones such as Ole & Steen. I am super excited to say that I will be reviewing some the restaurants in the coming weeks.

I could carry on all day how cool this new spot is but I would rather you visit it yourself.  Don’t forget to come back and share your thoughts.
