At around 5:45pm yesterday, I shut my bedroom door behind me and rushed to the front door of my flat with my sneakers in one hand and my phone in the other. I was speaking to my sister who was already waiting for me at Oxford circus. We were heading to the preview for the latest and swankiest bar in central London called The Wigmore.
Judging from the tone in my sister’s voice, she was getting slightly impatient waiting for me. She was my plus one for the event and has been looking forward to it ever since I told her about it.
Long story short, we eventually got to The Wigmore and immediately thought to myself this could possibly be my new handout spot. The atmosphere was electric as we made our way through the crowd of people already there. Without wasting any time, I took out my camera and started snapping away. The high ceilings gave the space a luxurious and spacious feel to it.
The decor and interior design was beautifully done. The suit to the far right as you come in through the main entrance has the most beautiful wall paper I have seen in a while. I just knew I wanted to do a fashion shoot in that suit the minute I walked in.
All the finger food was absolutely delicious but my very favourite has to be the chunky chips. I don’t know how it was flavoured and fried but there was something about those chips that got me calling for more. The menu was overseen by two-star Michelin chef Michel Roux Jr. That’s how you know the Wigmore means business when it comes to catering for its customers.
If you are someone who loves to try different drinks then this place is the spot for you. The variety of drinks is endless and each one I tasted has it unique character. The custom-made craft beers and of course the cocktails and punches were all delicious. But then again, what do you expect from a drinks list that was put together by the Artesian team from the five-star Langham hotel.
The Wigmore is the latest addition to the Langham’s London family and its location couldn’t have been better for anyone who likes to hang out in the centre of London. This fancy central London boozer is now open to the general public. It is quintessentially British tavern. So, do not take my word for it, head over and check it out for yourself and see what you think.
