I trust you’ve all had a good weekend and a good Monday. If you didn’t have a good one, well look on the bright side, there’s always another weekend precise five days just after the last one ends lol. Ok enough with the bad jokes.
So I was invited to the Next Suit Camp Event that turns out to be one of the coolest of the summer which took place last week Thursday. The truth is that I did not know what to expect from the event when I first got the invite. As someone who has his hands full at the moment with doing campaigns for other brands whilst joggling private life, I have become very selective of the events and even campaigns I say yes to so as to keep a healthy balanced life.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself no the Next website browsing through some really cool tailoring collection. Don’t get me wrong, when I used to work in the corporate world, next was one of the high street stores I get my work garments from so I absolute love them for that. But that was it really, work stuff. Never did it cross my mind that they do other cool collections too.
I found myself fixated on the level of details at which their suits were made. From the cuts to the textures, Next has really upped the game on high street tailoring.
To attend the event, I chose a tan textured suit from the Rebel collection. The tan and double breasted nature of the suit brought a heavy dose of retro vibe to it which I absolutely love. However, I was determined to look like a modern man who like retro instead of a man who did a time travel into the past. To give the suit a modern twist, I wore it with a simple all white pair of sneakers and a pair of white shirt. Plain and simple really. Oh and the break the tanned suit around the chest, I went for a green polka dot pocket square. The green of the pocket square goes quite well with the tan colour of the suit enhancing the retro/modern vibe I wanted to create.
Fast forward to the night of the event, I found myself rubbing shoulders with some familia faces in the blogging sphere, whilst making new acquaintances. There was plenty of food and drinks and as you can imagine, I was not complaining at all lol.
I also got to speak to the team behind the campaign to include the buyers, social media managers, and the PR team. Great bunch. The event was a success and I was certainly happy I went.
I think it is safe to say that you might just be seeing a lot more of next garments in these pages eh.
