Shopping experience for gents at the Royal exchange | Cuts for Him

I don’t know about you but shopping is one of those things I do not always look forward to it. I do it functionally when I need to and not just as a “hubby” as it were. I have a few friends who feel the same and one of the reasons for this is shop-hopping.

How often do you hear a group of guys plan a shopping trip just for the sakes of recreational purposes? Yep thats right, it does not happen very often. In fact with my experience, the only time guys talk about going to the shops together is when shopping for specific occasions like weddings. We might bring a mate along for that special suit for graduation, black tie dinner or attending a special wedding. Girls on the other hand are a completely different story lol.

Anyway the point of me rambling on above is to highlight the fact that men generally shop functionally for specific purposes. We buy things as an investment rather than impulsively.

The Royal exchange offers guys a shopping experience like non other. I first discovered the Royal exchange many years ago when I worked in the city. I used to visit at least once a week even if its just to have lunch at one of the restaurants.

The Royal Exchange is home to a special collection of contemporary luxury brands, and is where the City converges to meet, eat and shop. This iconic building offers an unrivalled collection of boutique shopping from luxury brands from around the world. Another thing I like about it is the fact that I can get all my shopping needs done in a single visit.

For the dapper and stylish gents, I have put together a list of items I think will interest you. I certainly like them so I hope you do too.

1. Crockett and Jones
If you are like me and love good quality shoes then a visit to Crockett and Jones is a must. These brown hassled loafers will do you a lot of good.
2. Tateossian
When it comes to small detail, nothing speak louder than cuff links. Having these skeleton/mechanical cuff links by Tateossian will surely turn heads.
3. Halcyon Days
I usually see buying a watch as an investment. So if you going to invest in one then I recommend the Agama sport brown and gold watch from Halcyon Days.
4. Sage Brown
Sage Brown does amazing leather goods but what stands out to me are their briefcases! Nothing beats a good leather briefcase or document holder. There are a number of there here you can choose from.
5. L’Occitane
I find that men do not talk much about grooming as we should. Not sure if its the notion of pampering ourselves is the turn off. I don’t know about but having a good grooming kit is just as important of wearing the right clothes for a good lifestyle. L’Occitane is definitely worth checking out.
6. Georg Jensen
Ok I know I already mention a good watch above but I personally think its wise to have more than one timepiece. In fact I think every modern man should have a collection of watches they are proud of and thats what Georg Jensen provides with their sleek collection. Their watches are on the pricier side but are a worthy investment.
7. Aspinal of London
A morder man should never leave the house without one of this. Yep thats my take on wallets or cardholder. Wallets and card holders are very practical accessories to have and Aspinal of London do beautiful and classy ones.
So there you have it, my gifting and shopping ideas for you. I hope you get inspired by these brands and actually visit the Royal Exchange for many more great brands.
