Fashion and Function meets to create style | Cuts for Him

Hello everyone. Just thought I put together a super quick post on a look I think is both practical yet stays true to form as far as fashion is concerned.

It is a very simply look brought to life by a red down and feather Gilet from Marks and Spencer.  As you can see, the gilet has all the hallmarks of a casual piece which makes it even more interesting to pair with a smart piece like a suit.

The main purpose of this look is to keep me warm whilst staying stylish. This works well when I want my suit to be seen and keep its true form. So all I have to do is don this red jacket and put my suit jacket over it and I am good to go.

With my pair of white sneakers, knit tie and pocket square, this look is guaranteed to make a style statement.

Let me know what you think. Would you have styled this gilet differently? Let me know in the comment section below.

    1. It does indeed. Its very comfy underneath the suit jacket

  1. Thank you for showing us how it’s done! You look marvelous, darling! I never would have thought to put a gilet with a suit. AND, I never knew this is called a gilet (learn something new every day :-D). It is eye catching and fashion forward. Above that, it keeps you warm without the hassle of a coat! Genius!

    1. Thank you Evelyn! Yes indeed it is called a gilet and I myself always just called it a vest until I bought this one from M&S lol. We all learn new things every day 🙂

  2. ‘Fashion and Function meets to create style’ this title fits so well on you with such a stylish dress you are in.

  3. I love your style! Who ever thought sneakers, white sneakers to be exact, would ever make such an ensemble! I love it!
