It’s the weekend again and I am sitting here wondering where did the week go. In fact, the apt question would be where did the month go seeing that it’s the last weekend of January already.
This time last weekend, I was in Barcelona exploring another passion of mine, photography. I will be sharing with you some of the work I did in Barcelona and of course do an article to review the city itself based on my experiences very soon. However, i thought i should share with you all this look which is a good example of colour blocking. As someone who express himself visually, I truly enjoy being behind the camera as it grants me the freedom (amongst other things) to work with an idea from it conceptual stages to the end when I deliver it as a finished product. Travelling is one thing i love doing whenever i can. The fact that i live in London, which is relatively close to major cities in Europe is a blessing in itself. I did quite a bit of travelling in the last two years and this year will be no exception. This year, my first destination is Barcelona. In fact, i am sitting in my hotel room as i type this article this very minute. Literally walked in and thought i should drop a few lines. I absolutely love Barcelona for two main reasons which are food and architecture. Anyway don’t get me started on Barcelona yet, as this article is about what i carry with me when i travel for short trips.
If you travel as much as I do then you would have, at some point during your travels, arrived at your destination only to realize that you have forgotten an important item of use, and probably taken stuff you do not need at all. There is nothing more frustrating than packing your 200ml Terre d’Hermes or your 250ml Tom Ford tuscan leather (which may well be more expensive than your flight), only to be told by airport security that you can’t take it with you as it exceeds the fluid limit allowed in your hand luggage. Ouch. This is generally caused by packing at the last minute or simply not planning your trip properly. Not only is it a massive inconvenience to not have the things you need with you, it has the potential to send your travel bill sky rocketing as you purchase these items. It’s Friday today and I am still recovering from the hustle and bustle of last weekend’s London Collections: Men fashion show. I love weekends like last week. I get to see the best of what fashion has to offer and meet like-minded people who share my passion and creativity. I get a sneak peak of what’s coming up in men’s fashion and get to deliver that to all of you. If you haven’t done so already, check out my post on LCM.
I promised to give you guys a run down of the outfits I wore to LCM
Day 1, look 1
Getting dressed for the first day of LCM
At first glance this outfit is your typical classic look. Double breasted blazer and tie, but if you look a little closer you will see the subtle twists that make this outfit into something completely different Continue reading LCM | C F Him | Four Looks in four days
For those of you who do not know, London Collections: Men or LCM is a biannual showcase that takes place every January and June that celebrates the creative and commercial importance of the British menswear industry hosted by the British Fashion Council.
London being a major city of the world when it comes to fashion is a perfect host location for an event like LCM that is a creative hub for young and upcoming brands to showcase their creativity. LCM has also attracted big international brands such as Tom Ford, Hilfiger, Coach and Gieves and Hawkes. The shows also attract bloggers like myself, press from major publications and local and international buyers. LCM is itself still in its infancy but has some of the industry’s well know faces such as David Gandy, Lewis Hamilton, Dermot O’Leary Continue reading London Collections: Men AW16 – A quick preview
