At around 5:45pm yesterday, I shut my bedroom door behind me and rushed to the front door of my flat with my sneakers in one hand and my phone in the other. I was speaking to my sister who was already waiting for me at Oxford circus. We were heading to the preview for the latest and swankiest bar in central London called The Wigmore.
Judging from the tone in my sister’s voice, she was getting slightly impatient waiting for me. She was my plus one for the event and has been looking forward to it ever since I told her about it.
I kid you not when I say that London Fashion Week Men’s was not on the list of events I wanted to attend this summer. Having hosted Cuts for Him’s first Fashion Industry Insiders Event a couple of weeks before, I was on the road to recuperating and getting some much needed rest. As you can imagine, Hosting a event which caters for about 200 people was hard work to say the least. So I was perfectly ok with me missing LFWM SS18 and any other event happening around that time.

If there is one summer social event most bloggers want to be at then it is the Mr Porter Summer Social. I have heard of similar Mr Porter events before but never had the opportunity to at one until the very last day of London Collections: Men.

The Mr Porter social was just what the Dr prescribed after four days of running to shows and navigating photographers keen to snap away at anyone who looks wired enough. Seems like the more wired one look these days the more attention you command. Nothing to do with practicality and sensible clothing anymore but hey that is a topic for another day.
